EUROPEAN UNION AND HUMAN RIGHTS INSTITUTION OF TURKEY WORK TOGETHER FOR “HUMAN RIGHTS”
On April 29, 2015 “Conference on Gender Equality Within the Context of Human Rights” was held in Ankara at CER Modern Arts Center with the participation of EU Turkey Delegation Chargé D’affaires Bela Szombati and President of Human Rights Institution of Turkey Hikmet Tülen.
The Conference realized within the scope of “Project on Supporting Human Rights Boards and Woman Rights” financed by the European Union and Republic of Turkey included public agencies, civil society organizations, academicians, professional chambers and trade unions working in the relevant area.
In the Project managed by Human Rights Institution of Turkey and with the contracting party as Undersecretariat of Treasury of Republic of Turkey Central Financing and Contracting Unit the following are targeted in general;
The Conference on May 29, 2015 was participated by CFCU President Emine Döğer, Bahçeşehir Üniversity Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty, Sociology Department Head Prof. Nilüfer Narlı, Ankara University Communication Faculty, Journalism Department Head Prof. Çiler Dursun, Flying Broom Woman Communication and Research Association President Halime Güner, UNHCR Representative Selen Ay, ILO Turkey Program and Administrative Affairs Officer Özge Berber Ağtaş, Woman’s Labor and Employment Initiative Representative Serap Güre, KAGİDER member, Sportive Aviation Chairperson of Board of Directors Nuray Karalar, Ministry of Labor and Social Security European Union Coordination Department Presidency, Coordinator Melahat Güray. The session was chaired by Prof. Funda Şenol Cantek (Lecturer at Ankara University Communication Faculty, Journalism Department and Woman Research Center Deputy Head) and Prof. Oya Akgönenç (Ufuk University, Head of International Relations Department). The issue of gender equality was discussed within the context of current status of human rights in Turkey.
